Children's Ministry
Village - Akplolo-Konta
Our team goes to the village about once a month, and does a children's program. There are games, songs and a gospel message.
What we see when we go to the village to do evangelism, the first people to come are the children. After the program, when you ask who wants to give their life to Jesus, it is the children who come first, then maybe one or two adults. The children are the future of Togo. Preaching to them, and teaching them about Jesus, they will grow up with that faith and will live different than the generations before them. They will be the generation to affect Godly change in the nation.
Christmas Program
Since 2022, we have put on a Christmas party for the children in the village where we have land - Akplolo-Konta. In Togo, Christmas is seen as something for children. It is not about presents, but about food. As a child, Komla remembers going from house to house at Christmas and eating very well.
At the Christmas party there are balloons, games, and songs, treats like cookies or popcorn, and a gospel message is given. At the end each child is given a package with some staples like rice and spaghetti, to help with their family Christmas celebration the next day.
In 2024, we had 320 children participate! Parents, as well as the elders of the village also have come. The impact goes beyond just the children as they hear the gospel as well.
